I am getting excited for the NBA season to arrive. I think I like basketball more just because it is easier to follow and there are eighty-two games during the regular season. When I come home from work even if my team (MIAMI HEAT) isn’t playing I can catch another game.

The NBA free agency started July 1st and this has been the biggest one in history some say. A lot of changes were made but the biggest of them all the new dynasty of Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James. There were a lot of rumors all summer that it was going to happen but it just seemed to good to be true. During numerous interviews with the new trio all of them agreed it was a sacrifice to do, especially when all three could have received max deals.

It was nice to see though that the friends came together and made this decision to play together. It’s not about the money but about getting championships. I mean an NBA career doesn’t last that long maybe 10-15 years. During that time no one cares about how many game winning shots you made but instead on how many rings that player received.

Season tickets have already sold out but I am hoping to go to the first game of the season. I can’t wait until the schedule is released.  I hope October comes soon! Get ready for the 2010-2011 NBA season it will be a great one!

As the sports season comes around a lot of people think I am a sports junkie. Truth is I just started getting into sports a couple of years ago. I always kind of watched football and I was the girl that the guys considered “one of the guys” so I would just like the fact they came over to watch the games at my house.

I never really got into it. I know teams and I know some players but I had no idea what fouls or offense or defense was. Football to me is still the hardest sport to follow because there is so much going on. But I must admit I do miss it.

During the regular season it is on for sixteen weeks. It sounds like a lot but when games only come on Sundays and then one game on a Monday it goes by so quickly. Basketball normally starts up towards the end of October so there is a mix during that time. But when Basketball ends in June and the only thing is on is Baseball I go crazy. I like my New York Yankees but I can barely watch a whole game.

So I am happy that August is approaching and pre-season is starting and maybe this season I will place some bets and win some money! Boy oh boy do I miss football. GO NY GIANTS!!!!!

This fall I am taking my talents to South Beach and play with the Miami Heat. The major factor was the best opportunity for me to win, to win now and for the future also. Winning is the most important thing for me. I feel like this is going to be the best opportunity”

Those were the very words that LeBron James spoke on Thursday, July 8th. Once those words left his mouth all craziness just broke out. I wish I knew what went through the minds of others but unfortunately I can’t read minds. A lot of people are trash talking LeBron as if he did something wrong. This is how I see it in my opinion. He became a free agent on July 1st. He met with multiple teams and he liked the idea of joining two of his friends in Miami. When he made the decision there were Cleveland fans burning his jersey outside like he was some monster. Cleveland should be happy that they were able to draft him when they did. They had seven years to get their team together and it’s sad to say but they couldn’t get the job done.

He has nothing against Cleveland but being a young superstar he wants a NBA championship ring. He couldn’t get that accomplished in Cleveland so he decided to take his talents to where HE thinks he can get it done. Some say that he has a big ego and it’s all about LeBron but is it really? He took a HUGE pay cut to play with his friends in a city he doesn’t know just so he has a better chance to win. I really wish people would stop hating on him and accept that he as moved on and do the same. It was a shame how Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert expressed his feelings in a letter to the fans stating “I personally guarantee an NBA champtionship before the Self-titled former king wins one”..Are you serious? What has Cleveland done in the past years. The last sports championship in Cleveland was in 1964! I hope when LeBron wins his first NBA championship before Cleveland does that Dan Gilbert will apologize!
